Four Main Characters: Brave, Smart, Loyal, and Driven

I’ve found that our favorite books often have four main types of characters. For this example, I stuck to characters from the Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter. (If you don’t know these characters, than you no longer have permission to view this blog. Please leave immediately. Come back when you are more worthy.) 

Using this outline — can you identify your collaborators and colleagues’ personalities? This is often a better, and easier way, to help understand people than taking a complicated personality test.

  1. Brave and Reckless

    • Adrenaline, experience-oriented, honest, practical, blunt, passionate, playful, funny, trusting, idealistic, stubborn, wary of manipulators, chivalry, courage, kindest and most generous
    • ENFP, ESTP, ESFP, ENFJ
    • Dolphin, Eagle, Dog, Chimpanzee
    • Peter High King, Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, Jenny Weasley
  2. Smart and Logical

    • Imagination, analyatical, logical, impractical (absent-minded), curious, creative, witty, wise, interested in understanding things, introspective, independent, interesting, non-judgemental
    • INTP, ENTP, ISFJ, LSTJ
    • Owl, Fox, Deer, Beaver
    • Susan High Queen, Luna Lovegood, Cho Chang
  3. Loyal and Friendly

    • Social, hard-working, determined, tenacious, loyal, honest, genuine, well-rounded, fair and just, open-minded, giving, good-hearted, accepting, compassionate, practical, patient, dependable, work now — play later
    • INFP, ISFP, ESFJ, INFJ
    • Turtle, Meerkat, Horse, Kangaroo
    • Lucy High Queen, Nymphadora Tonks, Cedric Diggory
  4. Cunning and Ambitious

    • Power, ambitious, driven, focused, determined, prepared, subtle, perfectionist, adaptable, realistic, self-reliant, charming, bold and assertive, traditionalist, do their best
    • ENTJ, INTJ, ISTP, ESTJ
    • Gorilla, Octopus, Rooster, Hippo
    • Edmund High King, Draco Malfoy, Tom Riddle, Severus Snape
