A Review of 2016 Paper Planners

Every year in January I struggle with the same thing: the purchase of a paper planner. There’s something deeply romantic about the idea of keeping a paper planner. Every year I research the most popular models and even print off a few pages to take them for a test drive. I order the best available and get out my 24-pack of fine tip Sharpies to color-code every page. And that’s usually as far it goes…one week…and then my beautiful paper planner is forgotten and abandoned.

Unfortunately, 2016 appears to be no different. January has arrived and I began to feel the pull of the paper planner….and so, here is the results of my struggle and research:

Winning Top #1 Pick: The Passion Planner

www.passionplanner.com/

An all-in-one weekly appointment calendar, journal, goal setting guide, and to-do list log integrated in one handmade, durable faux-leather planner. I’ve just hit the order button on this beauty, should arrive in my mailbox in a few days! A direct quote from the creator: “I wanted people to use this planner as a compass they could use to guide their daily decisions. It’s simple. You ask yourself: is what I am going to do today going to get me closer to my goals? Yes? Do it. No? Don’t do it.” I chose this calendar because it helped me to include my daily and yearly goals into my schedule—keeping things simple while keeping the most important things up front and center.

Very Close Second-Place:  The Mom Agenda

www.momagenda.com/

The momAgenda is an original day planner created for mothers, by a mother. This stylish and functional planner is guaranteed to help eliminate the chaos. Although I am not a mother (yet), there is a simple planner version that is extremely useful looking. I love the long columns with separate categories for each of the sections of my life. I can have a section for work, home life, the husband’s schedule, or even meal planning! The only downsides to this planner were the available styles—I wasn’t a fan of the cover prints. Otherwise, it looks like a fantastic option!

Do you use a paper planner? Or depend only the electronic resources to run your life? Let me know and leave a comment!
